What a wheel spacer does
Fitting a spacer moves the wheel outboard by its thickness. That widens the track, which improves lateral stability, and it creates clearance between the tyre sidewall and the suspension, steering arms and chassis – the usual limit when moving to oversized off-road tyres after a lift.
Fitting and safety
Spacers must be fitted to clean, flat hub faces and the nuts torqued to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification, then re-checked after the first 50-100 km. This spacer is supplied without a centring ring – where your hub and wheel bores differ, fit the correct ring. Fitting by a specialist 4×4 workshop is strongly recommended.
