Gray synthetic winch rope 8 mm x 18 m with hook
8 mm UHMWPE winch rope with a forged hook, supplied in a 18 m length. Synthetic line is roughly six times lighter than steel cable of the same strength, so you can drag it out to an anchor by hand instead of fighting a heavy, springy coil.

Protective sheath
The polyurethane outer layer holds the rope’s round profile and takes the abrasion when the line drags over rock or a sharp edge, which is by far the most common way synthetic rope gets destroyed.
Fitting and care
Synthetic rope must run through a hawse fairlead – roller fairleads have edges and pinch points that will cut it. Keep the rope away from hot exhaust components, wind it back onto the drum under light tension so the wraps bed evenly, and rinse mud and grit out after a wet recovery.
Safety
Always lay a recovery damper over the line during a pull, keep bystanders well outside the danger zone, and never step over a loaded line.
