Soft shackle 10 mm – synthetic recovery shackle
A braided UHMWPE soft shackle rated to 9 tons. It does the job of a steel bow shackle at a fraction of the weight, and because there is no steel pin there is nothing heavy to become a projectile if a line fails – the reason many recovery teams have moved to soft shackles entirely.

Care
Keep the shackle away from sharp edges – synthetic rope is exceptionally strong in tension but cuts easily. Inspect the loop and knot before each use and retire it if the cover is chafed through. Always lay a recovery damper over the line during a pull, keep bystanders well outside the danger zone, and never step over a loaded line.
